Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using DividendGuard (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is

DividendGuard is a free, ad-supported web application that aggregates publicly available financial data and presents dividend-related metrics, screening signals, and portfolio tools. It is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.

4. Accounts

• Some features (such as the Portfolio Tracker) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may delete your account at any time. Doing so removes your stored holdings and personal data associated with it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: scrape, overload, or attempt to disrupt the Service; reverse-engineer or resell its underlying logic or data feeds; or use it for any unlawful purpose.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DividendGuard and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including investment losses — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or its data.

8. Changes

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Disclaimer

Informational only

All content — including the Trap Classifier, safety scores, screening signals, calculators, and projections — is informational and educational. Nothing on the Service constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security.

Data may be inaccurate

Data is sourced from public filings (such as SEC EDGAR) and third-party price providers. It may be delayed, incomplete, mislabeled, or simply wrong. Models and classifiers can produce false positives and false negatives. Do not rely on this data for trading decisions without independent verification.

Your decisions are your own

Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Past performance and historical dividend behavior do not guarantee future results. Every investment decision you make is solely your own responsibility. Consult a licensed financial professional before making investment decisions.

U.S. equities only

Coverage is currently limited to U.S.-listed dividend-paying equities. The Service makes no claim of completeness even within that universe.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data: If you register, we store your email address and authentication credentials through our authentication provider (Supabase). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
• Portfolio data: Holdings you enter into the Tracker are stored against your account so they persist between sessions. They are tied to your user ID and protected by row-level security.
• Feedback: Messages you submit via "Send Feedback" are stored so we can review and act on them.
• Basic usage data: Standard server and analytics information (such as approximate region and pages visited) may be collected to keep the Service running and improve it.

Advertising

The Service is supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can review and control ad personalization through Google Ad Settings.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not share your portfolio holdings with third parties.
• We do not provide your information to brokers or financial institutions.

Third-party services

We rely on third-party providers for authentication, hosting, data, and advertising. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Data retention & deletion

You may delete your account at any time, which removes your stored holdings and associated personal data. Some minimal records may be retained where required for legal or operational reasons.

Children

The Service is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
